The College of Engineering records contain personal histories of senior engineers of the class of 1938 and correspondence of Professor Taliaferro. Most importantly, the collection includes land records of the University of Maryland and of plots elsewhere in Prince George's and Montgomery Counties. These records are unprocessed but a preliminary inventory is available.

The College of Engineering was founded in 1894 as part of the Maryland Agricultural College (which merged with the University of Maryland in 1920 to become the University of Maryland, College Park). In 1949, it was named Glenn L. Martin College of Engineering and Aeronautical Sciences after aviator and aircraft company founder Glenn L. Martin, a donor to the University of Maryland, College Park.
